May Update

To Commemorate ANZAC Day at the end of April, we went to Memorial park and saw the huge gates dedicated to those who lost their lives in WW1 and WW2. I have been there so often but had never read the names. I also learnt the ode and recited it with my friends.

While investigating the artwork along the Strand, we found 21 different pieces of art, but apparently there are 38, so I wonder where the other 17 are. I loved the mirror that made my body look funny. There were lots of giggles while we explored that.

Scattlebury reserve is a pathway along the wet lands that only has water at high tide. It was a great sunny afternoon with my buddies. I enjoyed the questions I could ask about where we were and laughing with Robin.

Taking the bus to the crossing was loads of fun and so much quicker than going to bayfair. It is cool getting to explore the mall with my friends and I enjoyed getting a turn on the claw machine, even if I didn’t win anything.

I had great fun going to a retirement village with my pals and playing games like corn hole. They needed to be taught the rules so I helped them learn, and then showed off my awesome skills. It was interesting listening to the stories from the old people, they lived a very different life from me.

I had an awesome time with my buddies helping sweep the pathways at the historic village, it was a beautiful day in the sunshine. They call the road the runway and it is so colourful with loads of different shapes on it. I love the wiggly lines on it.

It was great weather all month, so it was awesome to end with an autumn walk through Mclaran falls and crunching all the leaves on the ground. Some greedy ducks came to say hello and my friends gave them some crusts from their lunch. They were funny.

I then went to the squash counts and watched a very fast game of squash. The ball moves so quickly so I had to be fast with my eyes to keep an eye on it.

I am really excited for next month at Arohanui and seeing what other really awesome fun things come our way.
